I chose UMBC because...

I knew I could be the most successful at this school for my major. This is THE school for Computer sScience majors. It may get difficult but I know I'm getting the best education for what I want to do in life. I'm very pleased with my decision of attending UMBC because the people care here, the students and staff, we care about our education and we care about each other.

During my first semester, I wish I would have known...

not to underestimate the difficulty of college, specifically my major. I didn't understand how difficult things could actually get so I felt discouraged, but in reality college is just hard.

My advice to prospective students...

is remember to stay focused and don't lose sight of the reason you're here. Also, UMBC has a TON of resources and opportunities from tutoring to research to professors to student support groups... it's all here for you so please please pretty please use them.
