Though it's not the most comfortable, the wooden stairs in the Commons is a good place to do work. There are many outlets for electronics and it is a bright open space.

if you want to save some cash or missed a movie in theaters, there is a good chance that UMBC will show the movie at the on-campus cinema. Great weekend activity with your friends!

What makes UMBC home?

This community is welcoming and highly versatile for a college campus. It's not too big yet still provides a myriad of activities to keep you busy. Not having communal bathrooms in all residential halls is also a plus!

My advice to prospective students...

is college is what you make it, you do not need to have everything figured out right away. There will be time to try new things and find your passion!
