I live close to the campus and was able to commute.

During my first semester, I wish I would have known...

to go to my professors' office hours. Our professors are here to help and office hours are not only a great way to get extra help in a class, but also a great way to get know your professors.

How has UMBC helped you grow?

UMBC has given me more confidence. When I worked our summer orientation program, the professional staff helped me to develop my leadership skills which I then transferred over to the classroom. Now I can speak in front of crowds with confidence.
