Class of 2021

Hometown: Rochester, NY

Major: Media and Communications Studies

Favorite Class or Professor and Why

MCS (Media and Communications Studies) 222 with Professor Loviglio. My professor would make us all sit in a circle and go around sharing fun facts and our guilty pleasures. Safe to say, I ended that class with new friends and a great student-faculty relationship!

I chose UMBC because...

it had the major I was looking for, focused on traditional teachings that other universities value but also pushed students to learn and create new innovative teachings/studies/research/projects/etc. UMBC values the student, individually. Professors and Staff see potential in students and give every possible resource to help grow that potential into a reality.

Favorite Local Shop or Restaurant

Three Brothers, which is about 5-10 minutes away from campus. This a Maryland chain Italian restaurant with the BEST pizza.

My advice to prospective students...

is get involved! College has been one of my best experiences yet and it is simply because I got involved with clubs and organizations that interested me. I took a chance by going to my first meeting and it paid off each time. I have life long friends who have studied with me, had late night food with me and helped me become who I am today.

I'm passionate about...

Public Relations Graphic Design Event Planning Art Academic Excellence Volunteering Community Outreach
