How has UMBC helped you grow?

Before coming to UMBC I was pretty introverted and reserved, but now after two years here I work directly with new and prospective students in multiple ways across campus. I've found a place where I'm comfortable stepping out of my shell more than I ever did before.

What makes UMBC home?

The people - my fellow students, the professors, and other faculty members all do a really great job of making UMBC a place where I can build a community.

My UMBC hack is...

Taking the elevator through the University Center building to skip the stairs when I'm running late.

Favorite Local Shop or Restaurant

OCA Mocha is a local coffee shop in Arbutus that was started by UMBC students. They offer discounts for students and have created a really welcoming, calm environment for everyone.
