During my first semester, I wish I would have known...

about The Women's Center. Not only do they have an incredibly comfortable lounge space, but they also have programs and staff that foster a really welcoming community.

How has UMBC helped you grow?

UMBC has given me tons of educational experiences to help me grow as a student, leadership opportunities to help me grow as a professional, and friends to help me grow as a person :)

Favorite Class or Professor and Why

Hands down Ms. Bonny Tighe. I've had her for Calculus II and Math for Elementary Teachers courses, so I feel confident in saying she's one of the best professors out there. Ms. Tighe really does care about the success of her students, and she wants them to understand what they're learning and what's important about it. She's definitely made a difference on my entire academic career :)

I chose UMBC because...

UMBC was a good compromise for me and my parents: not too far from home, but far enough that I could be independent; good programs; and a campus that wasn't too big. It really turned out to be a great fit!
