How has UMBC helped you grow?

This year I was able to meet a lot of new people and make friends, as well as joining a club. It's nice to be around people who also value their academics.

I chose UMBC because...

I went to a previous college that was much too expensive and also just ended up not being as STEM focused as I wanted. UMBC was highly recommended by people close to me, and when I toured the ILSB I just knew this was where I wanted to go.

Favorite Class or Professor and Why

I love Dr. Carpenter and Dr. Cui. Dr. Carpenter teaches chemistry and Dr. Cui teaches physics. Both were classes I knew I would struggle with, but they truly valued their students and wanted us to succeed.

My UMBC hack is...

Carefully calculate how much a meal swipe gets you at each place. It's better to know than to have to use your flex when you didn't plan on it.
