if you plan on commuting to campus, and are taking one of the UMBC shuttles, take advantage of all the stops because if you don't feel like walking or if you are running late, the shuttle cuts the time in half and gets you to your destination in the matter of minuets. It's especially useful when you need to get to the Performing Arts and Humanities Building.
I really liked POLI 327: Interest Groups and Lobbying with Dr. Schaller. It was my first upper level class ever! Initially I was terrified to speak in class and scared of all the upperclassman but over time this class helped me get over my fear of public speaking and Dr. Schaller challenged me and helped me bring my best work forward with every assignment I submitted.
is don't be afraid to talk to someone in your class! You would be surprised to find that they are feeling the exact same way! Try to bond with your fellow peers and get involved.
I really liked how diverse it was both in terms of the student body and the variety of programs that it has to offer!
