My advice to prospective students...

Don't be afraid to put yourself out there! Attend events, talk to professors, introduce yourself to people, and explore opportunities outside the classroom. You don't have to have everything figured out when you arrive. Sometimes, the best experiences come from simply saying yes to something new.

My most memorable UMBC experience was...

One of my most memorable experiences has been getting involved with the UMBC community through volunteering at hackUMBC, participating in Cyber 101, and connecting with students through CWIT. Each experience has introduced me to new people, perspectives, and opportunities that have made my college journey meaningful.

I chose UMBC because...

I chose UMBC because of its strong Information Systems program and the opportunities to explore the intersection of technology, business, and innovation. Another big factor was the size of the university. It felt like the perfect balance: small enough to build meaningful connections with professors, upperclassmen, and students from different majors, but large enough to offer great exposure, diverse opportunities, and career resources to help students find internships and jobs. I wanted a university where I could grow academically, professionally, and personally while discovering what I wanted my future to look like.

My UMBC hack is...

Take advantage of all the resources UMBC offers! From the Academic Success Center and tutoring to student organizations, campus events, and professor office hours, there is so much available to help you succeed. My biggest hack is to get involved early because some of the best opportunities come from the connections you make.
