My advice to prospective students...

this is a fresh start, so make sure you learn from the mistakes you made in high school. I regretted not being very involved in high school so when I started at UMBC I made sure to say yes to every opportunity available.

Favorite Class or Professor and Why

Intro to Creative Essay Writing--I honestly hate writing but this class made essays almost enjoyable. It was a late-night class that lasted two hours once a week, but the professor always had so much energy.

Favorite Local Shop or Restaurant

Krispy Kreme because you can get fresh donuts and eat them while they're still warm. Also, Old Ellicott City in general has so many antique stores that are fun to browse.

How has UMBC helped you grow?

I got the opportunity to really step out of my comfort zone and try lots of new activities to develop my interests. Now I am much better at connecting with people and making decisions for myself.
