I chose UMBC because...

of our strong reputation as a STEM and research university. When I was looking for schools, I knew I wanted to either do research or become a doctor and a school with a reputation like UMBC's was a natural choice. Also, I'm a middle child and my parents liked the cost after in-state tuition since they have two other out of state tuitions to pay.

Favorite Spot on Campus

The Commons in the morning is surprisingly quiet and peaceful and it's one of my favorite spots to study before it gets busier during lunch.

Favorite Class or Professor and Why

Dr. Freeland! He's my Individualized Studies (INDS) advisor and is someone who really understands where I want to go and pushes me to get there and beyond, but creatively and in my own way.

Favorite Local Shop or Restaurant

Atwater's in Catonsvillle!!! It's a cute brunch spot!
