During my first semester, I wish I would have known...

that almost all of the food options on campus take your meal plan! I did not know that the food options in The Commons and Administration Building took the meal plan. It opened a whole new world of food on campus when I found out.

I chose UMBC because...

when I stepped on campus for orientation it just felt like home. I also wanted to stay in-state while being far enough from home that it made sense to live on campus.

Favorite Local Shop or Restaurant

Taste Tea (a bubble tea place right off campus) is always a good place to hang out with friends. You can even walk there!

My advice to prospective students...

is don't be afraid to put yourself out there! If you're living on campus, get to know those who live on your floor and in your building, go to the activities your hall has! If you're a commuter, spend some extra time on campus aside from classes, talk to those in your classes, go to the commuter lounge.
