What makes UMBC home?

The people. Everyone comes together to help one another out and it’s so great to see and experience. UMBC wouldn’t be so great without the students and staff that make it special.

I chose UMBC because...

the atmosphere is very community-oriented. I went on campus and immediately fell in love. Everyone was so nice and seemed to really care about me and my success in college.

My most memorable UMBC experience was...

STRiVE, which is a leadership retreat that people can go to during winter break. It was so great to meet new people who have different views about life than me. I was able to make new friends and allow myself to be vulnerable in able to learn more about myself. It was one of the best experiences of my life.

Favorite Spot on Campus

There are these big windows with benches on the first floor of the library. During the week, it’s too loud to actually study there but on the weekends, it’s a beautiful place to see a lot of campus and get a ton of natural sunlight. I could sit there for hours.
