How has UMBC helped you grow?

Living with and being surrounded by so many people my age has taught me things about myself that I wouldn't have known before: how I do in new, completely unfamiliar situations; how I handle conflict; how good I am at managing my time- the list goes on! I've had a lot of opportunities to step out of my comfort zone as well as sit tight and give myself space from others. Being a tour guide has helped with my confidence and leadership skills!

My advice to prospective students...

is there truly is something for everybody on campus, and so many opportunities! The best advice I was given was to try multiple clubs your freshman year and then narrow them down throughout your time at UMBC to really invest in what you love. It's helped me to try some activities I wouldn't have normally joined.

My UMBC hack is...

hit the gym Friday morning if you can and then hit Dunkin on the way back to the res halls... soooo nice for some me-time!

What makes UMBC home?

Being a part of Cru and finding people who think and believe similarly to me has been such a blessing! I feel like I have a second family on campus.
