Fun Fact

I like to sew, crochet, and knit--my grandma taught me to sew and my mom and I learned to crochet and knit together! It's a family thing.

How has UMBC helped you grow?

Living with and being surrounded by so many people my age has taught me things about myself that I wouldn't have known before: how I do in new, completely unfamiliar situations; how I handle conflict; how good I am at managing my time- the list goes on! I've had a lot of opportunities to step out of my comfort zone as well as sit tight and give myself space from others. Being a tour guide has helped with my confidence and leadership skills!

During my first semester, I wish I would have known...

even if you are open and honest with others, they won't necessarily be with you, and that makes conflict resolution hard. At the end of the day, you have to just act in a way that you would be proud of looking back.

My most memorable UMBC experience was...

my friends and I played frisbee on Erickson Field every Tuesday and Thursday, and I had a lot of fun and got to be a part of something consistent on campus that brought me closer to others!
