What makes UMBC home?

Definitely the people. I instantly felt welcome and at home here after getting involved within the community.

My advice to prospective students...

Don't be afraid to put yourself out there! Talk to as many people as you can to find our their stories.

During my first semester, I wish I would have known...

To take things slow. You won't have everything all figured out, but that's okay! You will find what works for you when the time comes.
