How has UMBC helped you grow?

UMBC makes it a point to build self-reliant individuals. Students here are always charting their own path when it comes to campus organizations, internships, and on-campus jobs. The spirit is contagious, and I think that it has rubbed off on me.

UMBC's community is one where it is "cool" to be smart. I feel super comfortable around this type of crowd and enjoy the fact that people here are motivated about succeeding in the classroom and beyond.

The Scholars Programs here are unmatched. Acceptance as a Sondheim Public Affairs Scholar allowed me to join a community of motivated peers, gain access to new career resources and networks, and receive generous financial support.

During my first semester, I wish I would have known...

the RAC (Retriever Activity Center) fitness classes are ACTUALLY fun. And there's no pressure. Seriously. Just go.
