How has UMBC helped you grow?

UMBC makes it a point to build self-reliant individuals. Students here are always charting their own path when it comes to campus organizations, internships, and on-campus jobs. The spirit is contagious, and I think that it has rubbed off on me.

During my first semester, I wish I would have known...

the RAC (Retriever Activity Center) fitness classes are ACTUALLY fun. And there's no pressure. Seriously. Just go.

My UMBC hack is...

to reserve study rooms in the library ahead of time so that you have a place where you need to be studying for a set amount of time. They are an awesome tool for building discipline in getting work done.
