I was offered a Humanities Scholarship, I liked that it was close to my house but far enough away to feel separate, and I wanted a medium sized school.
is take your time considering where you want to go and visiting colleges (when possible), but try not to stress too much when choosing! You can find a home and friends wherever you go, plus you could always transfer! At UMBC, we accept almost as many transfer students as first-year students per year. You will always find the place for you, so trust yourself.
UMBC has helped me develop my professional skills by allowing me to work in the admissions office. My professors have also helped me find my own voice and encouraged me to think critically in many aspects of my life.
The Humanities Seminars I took freshman year! As a Humanities Scholar, you are required to take seminars both semesters that are designed specifically for your cohort. Each class has new professors from different disciplines who collaborate on the creation and teaching of the course. It is a truly unique and special experience.
