I chose UMBC because...

UMBC highlights having a very close community. I really felt like the institution itself cares about their students and tries to help them as much as they can. I also love that my fellow students are just as or more academically focused as I am and I feed of off other people's energy to encourage myself.

Favorite Class or Professor and Why

I love IHU classes, they are so helpful and a good way to unwind and still retain information about the campus. My IHU class actually went on a scavenger hunt which is how I found some of my favorite hangout places on campus and student resources that I would've been too scared to look for myself.

My UMBC hack is...

When it is raining, be sure to use the academic buildings and the connected bridge ways to avoid getting wet, if you use them right you will only really be outside for 10-20 seconds at a time.

During my first semester, I wish I would have known...

I wish I knew that I can reserve study spaces in ILSB, which in my opinion is the nicest building.
